There are dynamics which “govern” how we function. A governor is “A feedback device that is used to provide automatic control of speed.”
What are our governors?
• The number of staff God calls to work with us and their level of competency and involvement.
• The team forming and developing process.
• The number of partnerships committed to help us accomplish a project.
• The effective communication of needs and the time between something needed, the need being communicated and when there is provision for that something.
There are many issues that need to be taken into consideration when making plans like
• Team development.
• Funding
• Existing department budgets and spending
• The existing stress on systems in place both on the field and home office.
• How this will effect future projects.
• The needs of staff and families, etc.
• Use of assets and supplies
• Purchasing and Shipping issues
Where do the resources come from and how are they sustained?
• Staff fees (depending on location)
• Individual and group donations
• STM team donations
• Individual networks.
• General fund
• Each department needs to plan and spend with the overall dynamics of the organization in mind.
What does each director and department head need to be aware of?
• They are responsible for working within the limitations of the organization and it’s “governors”.
• Area director / location director / department head / and U.S. office work together towards approved goals. There are varying levels of involvement.
• Department Heads are the most responsible for the successful functioning of their program.
• Major projects, locations & areas may need to develop “Resource” people that give most of their time to the recruiting, promoting, and coordinating of their projects. This will mean they will need access to resources which may mean living most of the year in the U.S.
What can the U.S. office help with?
• Help recruit Stm teams, staff interns and full time workers
• Coordinate AMU
What can’t the U.S. office be for your area, location or department?
• The driving force behind your department in vision, communication or funding.
